Kyoto Fretwork is adapted from the pleasing geometric undulations in the back of a design in a wonderful old document book of antique Japanese textile designs. During a trip to Paris, Easton discovered and acquired the book, and was at once drawn to the pattern now reworked by skilled Nepalese weavers into Kyoto Fretwork, with silk cut pile motif against the wool loop pile. Bridging the traditional and contemporary, this transitional design will make a dramatic statement in any room.
